Welcome to our Local Townsville Resource Guide for all your travel information. Bus Queensland Outback’s Townsville Bus services for both locals and Outback Queensland travellers are the most affordable and comfortable way to travel.
The formerly quiet coastal town of Townsville has flourished into a modern metropolis. Officially home to Australia’s 3rd & 11th Brigades, Townsville remains home to one of the country’s largest army barracks. It is Australia’s largest urban centre north of the Sunshine Coast, offering so many things to do and combining federation architecture with restaurants, accommodation & shopping like no other regional QLD city.
From lush rainforests, World Heritage listed National Parks to the Great Barrier Reef and its many tropical islands, the town has become a prime location to discover, appreciate and fully immerse yourself in nature.
Some of the top attractions to see while in Townsville include, a visit to the Reef HQ Great Barrier Reef Aquarium, views from the top of Castle Hill, the Townsville Billabong Sanctuary, taking a ferry to nearby Magnetic Island, snorkelling the Great Barrier Reef or be amazed at Australia’s highest permanent single drop waterfall at Wallaman Falls.
