1. .  Local Outback Queensland Sporting Teams

  • Travel to and from towns

1.1.1    What is this Grant for?

Local sports teams in Outback communities requiring transport between game venues on Bus Queensland existing routes.  This grant is not limited to schools.

1.1.2    How can you access this Grant?

Bus Queensland Outback Website – https://www.busqldoutback.com.au/grants/.  Complete the online form by selecting SPORTS from the dropdown list.  Complete the balance of information and submit your application.  Bus Queensland will review all applications received and respond to the applicants.  Advance notice of at least two weeks is required by Bus Queensland to ensure capacity is available.

1.1.3  What happens if YOU are successful?

Bus Queensland will work with your team captain or club secretary to make the group booking.  Bus Queensland will require a list of all passengers.  The booking will be made by our office and notification emailed to the contact person.  Please reference the Bus Queensland Terms & Conditions of Travel and ensure that all passengers are aware of these, including luggage allowance. 

2.   School Excursions

  • Travel to and from towns
  • Subject to working timetables
  • Travel to the value of $10,000

2.1.1  What is this Grant for?

Local school groups from Outback communities requiring transport between towns on Bus Queensland’s existing routes.  This grant is limited to any type of school group.  Outback Queensland is jam packed with amazing school excursion ideas, we're excited to introduce our state to Queensland kids!

2.1.2     How can you access the school excursion grant?

Bus Queensland Outback Website – https://www.busqldoutback.com.au/grants/.  Complete the online form by selecting SCHOOL EXCURSIONS from the dropdown list.  Complete the balance of information and submit your application.  Bus Queensland will review all applications received and respond to the applicants.  Advance notice of at least two weeks is required by Bus Queensland to ensure capacity is available.

2.1.3   What happens if YOU are successful?

Bus Queensland will work with your school secretary to make the group booking.  Bus Queensland will require a list of all passengers.  The booking will be made by our office and notification emailed to the contact person.  Please reference the Bus Queensland Terms & Conditions of Travel and ensure that all passengers are aware of these, including luggage allowance. 

3.  Community Challengers

  • Supporting those in the community that are struggling
  • Travel to the value of $15,000
  • Travel may be to visit family, doctors or simply to get away from it all
  • Application form on website

3.1.1  What is this Grant for?

Individuals or families in Outback communities who are experiencing hardship and requiring transport between towns on Bus Queensland’s existing routes. 

3.1.2   How can you access this Grant?

Bus Queensland Outback Website – https://www.busqldoutback.com.au/grants/.  Complete the online form by selecting HARDSHIP from the dropdown list.  Complete the balance of information and submit your application.  Bus Queensland will review all applications received and respond to the applicants.  Advance notice of at least two weeks is required by Bus Queensland to ensure capacity is available.

3.1.3   What happens if YOU are successful?
